All I can say is wow. The world has officially lost their mind. I haven’t though, so here’s why you should leave the toilet paper on the shelf (seriously, you don’t need THAT much) and why you should start browsing for some safety pins.
Fashion does circles, we all know it. Its why I very rarely get rid of any of my clothes, and they’re kept in storage.
Neon colours have come and go, flared pants, low rise jeans, bonds hightop underwear.. they’ve all had their time and they will come back. Except maybe the bonds hightop underwear… that can stay in the past.
Lets flashback to this look:
The oh so famous Versace pin dress circa 1994. Worn by the glamorous Elizabeth Hurley, this dress was ICONIC and this look is making it’s way back.
Versaces latest fashion show displayed little black dresses with beautiful golden safety pins, and honestly I am ALL for this.
I am SO in love with this look because it can be SO easy to recreate. You don’t have to go purchasing Versace to stay on trend.
Heres how:
Grab yourself a little black dress, blazer, skirt or top and workout where to place your safety pins. Try to find dresses that have lots of straps or leg splits, that makes it easier to work out where you can place your safety pins!
Check out these from Forever New:
Using the Blazer dress – you could place your safety pins along the seams or on the cuffs to make it look like thats what is holding it together.
Using the One Shoulder Dress – You could place the pins at the top of the leg split and the centre of the bow on the shoulder.
Check out these safety pins:
If you’re not into pinning your clothes yet, you can still jump on board the safety pin trend with Swarovskis line of Pin Jewellery, check out these gorgeous, and understated pieces:
I personally have bought the earring, because.. how cute are they!?
Or you know, there’s always the option of splurging on a pair of Versace heels:
What do you think of the Safety Pin trend? Love it, or hate it?
